Visit to Lake Tahoe and San Jose

The three of us drove up to Lake Tahoe last Thursday to spend three glorious days there with our South African friends, Lou and Ann.

Of course, the trip there was, true to Laubscher tradition, not without incident.
I will not name names, but let's just say one of us discovered the truth in the saying
"Never trust a Fart".
All I have say about that is that a pair of underpants and shorts got left by the side of the road, and thank God for wet wipes!

Lake Tahoe in summer is beautiful!
We rented  a very nice condo, bordering the forest.

This is the view from the deck..

Tiny three person hottub on the deck outside

On the first day there, we drove right around the lake. It was beautiful, and nice and cool compared to the scorching heat of Phoenix.

The "beach", as they call it, on the North side, was covered with small pebbles, but surprisingly comfortable.
Niel was the only one who ventured into the water this time...
The next day we took the gondola up to the top of the mountain, where we had lunch at the lodge.

Relaxing in the sun after lunch.

We stopped at the beach one last time on Monday, before heading on to San Jose...
The beach on the South side was soft sand....  (with some duck poop mixed in here and there)..

"Most" of us got to swim
before we left to spend two more wonderful days with Ann and lou at their home in San Jose.
